Microbiology section is under the external quality control program with WHO and is equipped with automated blood culture system, Micronaut bacterial identification and sensitivity system, biosafety cabinets, BOD incubators etc. Many research activities are in progress in this section with PhD students who have published many research papers in International and National journals. Students from all over the country participate in summer research and training program in this section every year. There are also facilities for diagnosis of many uncommon microbes like Brucella, Leptospira, Clostridium difficile, Helicobacter spp., Leishmania (Kalaazar) etc.
