Hospital offers a full range of intensive care units
to manage all kinds of critical patients, 51
beds have
been earmarked in the hospital as intensive care
units.The Intensive Therapeutic Unit and the Intensive
Cardiac Care Unit consists of 20
beds
equipped with most modern instruments and gadgets for
cardiorespiratory monitoring and resuscitation.
Both ITU and ICCU are equipped with bed-side monitors
as wall as central monitors to observe all the
patients from one point. |
Besides
the ITU and ICCU we have a 12
bedded Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit probably the best in the
eastern part of the country. The NITU is well equipped
with Paediatric ventilators, lncubators,Photo therapy
Units and other instruments to manage premature babies
with birth weight as low as 700 grams. ITU, ICCU and
NITU have separate and isolated
arrangements to treat infective cases.

the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Department we have a
dedicated 8
bedded
Intensive Care Unit for managing post operative
cardiothoracic cases. We have a separate 8 bedded
Intensive Care Unit under National Neuroscience Centre
to manage the patients of the Neurology and
Neurosurgery Departments.
