Healthcare management has become extremely complex. A rapid growth in health care technology in recently years not only necessitate knowledge on over all functioning of hospitals but also need s to develop effective high quality health care delivery system for our patients. Every hospital caters a heterogeneous section of patients with different socioeconomic, cultural & religious background with widely variable life style. As such, adequate training and administrative capability must bring a total harmony to ensure smooth, efficient and comprehensive working of the entire hospital to achieve its objective. Hospital administrators require knowledge and skill in various fields, including personal management, good interpersonal skill, personality development with change in attitude and positive behavior, hospitality management, labour laws, health financing, material management, support service management in addition to comprehensive medical knowledge befitting with running of hospital. In fact, it is our long felt desire to create adequate facility within hospital premises for comprehensive training programme to health care executives so that they can perform their duties more efficiently leading to client satisfaction. The entire health care industries are waiting eagerly for batch of bright & highly professional hospital administrators those who can really contribute in improving health care delivery systems in different categories of corporate hospitals, government hospitals, diagnostic centre, pharmaceutical industries, health care marketing, health care infrastructural planning and development sector etc.. and our endeavor will be matching with ever changing scenario of the health care environment. The rise in income level of the population, increase in burden lifestyle diseases and the changing demographic profile have contributed to the growth of the health acre industry. The government of India has given special incentive to promote this sector for the next couple of years. World class infrastructure facilities with highly skilled manpower, the hospitals are attracting international patients through medical tourism. In future this sector will attract many more medical tourists through its highly skilled medical professionals with very cheap treatment cost. India will become one of the leading destinations for many international patients. The health care industry is poised to grow continuously as a result of changing demographic profile, change in disease patterns and as much by 2012, the health care spending is estimated to increase to over Rs.2000 billion in real terms. Rules and Regulations for MHA ( Master of Hospital Administration ) Course Duration : Two academic years divided into four semesters, each of six months duration. Annual intake Limited to (40) forty students each year. Eligibility : The minimum qualification for admission to MHA course is Bachelor's Degree ( 10+2+3) in Arts/Science/Commerce/Engineering/Technology/Medical;/ Dental/Pharmacy/ Agriculture or any other professional courses from any recognized Indian Universities. Admission : Test Structure : written test (MCQ-Type of one hour duration ). The written Examination shall be followed by Group discussion and Interview to be conducted by WBUT. The university shall prepare the provisional merit list of successful candidates. Project work : Candidates shall have to submit Project Report/ Dissertation to the University before fourth semester examination and the report must be approved by university before the candidates is allowed to sit for fourth semester University examination. The project work shall commence after the second semester. Attendance : Candidates must attend minimum 75% in theory and 85% in practical classes to quality for both internal and University examinations. Dress Code : Each and every MHA student follow the dress code of the Institute. Black trouser, White full sleeve shirt, Black Coat and a black tie with institute logo / Black sallower with white kames and black coat / Black sari, white full sleeve blouse and black coat are recommended. In addition students must ware white coat and must use identity cared while on hospital duty. Discipline : The students must maintain strict discipline within the hospital campus where ailing patient are struggling for survival. The hospital s are highly sensitive area and any unnatural and unusual type of activities and any from of misconduct and indiscipline attitude is strictly prohibited within hospital premises. The MHA course is a hospital based highly professional course and any such unfortunate activity shall be consider as punishable offence & shall be dealt seriously and which may end finally in termination of studentship. Hostel Facility : Hostel facility shall be provided. Canteen : Canteen facility is available at Peerless Hospital & B.K.Roy Research Centre, 360 Panchasayar, Kolkata ~94 . A large shopping Mall ( Big Bazar at Hiland park ) is opposite Hospital. Railways and roads connect the campus. The nearest railway stations are ' Baghajatin' and 'Garia' . The nearest bus stop is one minute from the institute campus. Library : Peerless Hospital & B.K.Roy Research Centre has two excellent library where many users can access the library at a time. The library contain thousand of items including medical books, many Indian and foreign medical journals, CD-Roms and daily newspaper of different languages. Access to the library material is provided through library card and through computerize catalogue. The library provides recent information through its internet zone so that current medical developments of medical science are available to all staffs of the hospital. The library has connection with British Council Library, kolkata through which the Hospital library gets the advantage of using the resources of the British Council Library. Through the collections and services the library tries to serve as the foundation of study and research organized by the Peerless Hospital and B.K. Roy Research Centre. Computer Section : The computer and information system facilities of this Hospital are state of the art. These facilities are delivered fro two sections namely EDP division and Computer Systems Laboratory. The centre is well equipped with four IBM servers, two HCL net managers and a number of Pentium I,II,III,IV machines, windows 2000 server, IBM Desktop PC, Thin Client, All together the hospital has more than 100 computers to use. EDP people manage all high end Printers, Scanners and laptops. EDP is connected with high speed LAN connection. It also delivers dedicated Broad Band internet services amongst users. It has designed and maintains database of functional areas of the hospital. Our patient billing system is running Oracle7.3 database and SCO Unix 6.0 operating systems. Currently the centre is working to implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP Navision 3.7) system inside the hospital. EDP department is open 24 hours. Computer Systems Library is well equipped with ten PC. Students will do their computer practical classes |
