Since 1994 the department has performed a wide variety of urological surgery-emergency, elective,
minimally invasive, adult and paediatric and for benign and
malignant conditions.
Routinely performed urological procedures consist of treatment
of benign and malignant prostate tumores (TURP, Open and Radical
prostatectomies), bladder tumours (TURBT, Radical
Cystectomies), urethral stricture disease (urethrotomy and
urethroplasty including PAPA urethroplasty for PFUDD),
simple and radical nephrectomies, endoscopic treatment of
bladder and ureteric calculi, laparoscopic orchidopexy,
pyeloplasty for PUJO and hypospadias operations.
Less commonly performed surgeries include, ureteric
reimplantation, repair of Vesico Vaginal Fistula, TVT for
stress incontinence, laparoscopic adrenalectomy, surgery for
PUV with paediatric endoscope. ESWL and PCNL for treatment
of kidney stone disease is expected in the near future.
